A Texas Winter
“The Cardinal” 6 × 6 inches oil on panel
A Texas Winter
We are deep into winter in Texas. The hope for another snow day before the emerging clear blue Texas skies melt away the memory. The hope for long walks with the crisp bite in the air. The flash of cardinals in the winter garden and skeletal trees. Hope for the chance to stoke a fire in the firepit and visit with friends while enjoying the cool air and warm fire. The long shadows before they shorten with the lengthening days.

Thanks so much for your support over the years. My spring theme is Emergence. Emergence in artistic development, emergence from winter, growing and developing my love of nature and conservation and the importance of protecting our natural spaces.
The process of emerging and coming into view as an artist requires exposing oneself to the world and its critique whether good, bad, or just plain ugly.
Cheers!
Karen
